The Supervisory Relationship: Clinical Theory & Practice

Presenters: Jacqueline Falkenheim, PhD, MSS, LCSW & Peggy Vogt, MSW, LCSW

Location: Bryn Mawr College, Gateway Conference Roomin Gateway Bldg. at the corner of Morris & Yarrow.

Description: This workshop is designed to enhance the skills of clinicians currently supervising privately and in agencies, as well as clinicians with at least several years of experience who are interested in becoming supervisors. The presenters will introduce a variety of theories and practices that inform clinical supervision, including educational assessment; the relational dynamics between supervisor and supervisee; transference and countertransference: and the similarities and differences between psychotherapy and supervision. They will also address the differing contexts for practice, such as agency versus private practice, and issues of diversity in the supervisory relationship.
