What Happens in Therapy?
The professional relationship between you and a Clinical Social Worker promotes insight, better communication, changed attitudes and more effective behaviors in the problem areas that are important to you. The goal of psychotherapy is permanent improvement in your daily living and in your relationships with others.
A Clinical Social Worker asks questions to help prioritize the problems that concern you. Together, you will develop specific goals that form the basis of a treatment plan. In regular sessions (usually weekly), your Clinical Social Worker will apply specialized therapeutic approaches and expertise to your problems. With this process, along with your effort and commitment to sessions, you can work toward the changes and improvements you seek.
The relationship between you and a Clinical Social Worker is strictly confidential.
What is the Cost?
Insurance often assists in paying for the services of a Clinical Social Worker. Contact your insurance provider to confirm coverage for mental health services and for details about your benefits.
You also are invited to discuss the cost of sessions and insurance coverage with the individual Clinical Social Worker you choose from this list. She or he will be helpful in discussing your financial options for paying for psychotherapy services.
